Hotel Laguna Faro

In a place, in which the balanced relationship between humans and the nature is so important and sensitive, for the project we have been inspired by the territory that hosts Laguna Palace Hotel, with the intent of acknowledging all small details of the place’s beauty.
Inside the intricate natural system of Grado lagoon, made up of islands and canals, the salty sea water meets the dry land. Their encounter generates a colourful mixture, ranging from warm colours to light blue and vivid green.
In addition to the natural local elements, we wanted to bring inside the project also the human gesture. Over time, women and men have indeed adapted their habits and technologies to the environment surrounding them. In the project, there is a strong remind to the use of ropes, straw, canes and wood that have guided the project – all elements that build the traditional Casoni, once the houses of the lagoon’s fishermen.
In un luogo dove l’equilibrio tra uomo e natura è così importante e delicato, l’ispirazione per il progetto è arrivata osservando il territorio in cui il Laguna Palace Hotel si inserisce, con la volontà di recepire tutti i piccoli dettagli di bellezza che lo rendono unico.
Nell’intricato sistema di isole e canali naturali della laguna di Grado, l’acqua salmastra del mare si unisce alla terraferma, generando una commistione di colori che dalle tinte terrose sfuma verso l’azzurro, passando per le tonalità brillanti del verde.
Oltre agli elementi naturali del luogo abbiamo voluto inserire all’interno del progetto anche il ricordo del gesto dell’uomo che ha adattato le proprie abitudini e tecnologie all’ambiente che lo circonda. È presente un forte rimando all’utilizzo di corde, paglia, canne e legno, elementi che si ritrovano nelle tradizionali costruzioni chiamate Casoni, un tempo abitate dai pescatori lagunari, e che hanno guidato le scelte progettuali.
